Freddy's Pizzeria, Whitestone, Queens

Supposedly, Freddy's Pizzeria in the Whitestone section of Queens has some very good pizza, but you wouldn't know it if you talked to a friend of mine who grew up in the neighborhood. According to him, the calzones are the thing at Freddy's, and they are especially good on Friday night.

Some locals also call the place Angelo's, as Angelo used to own the place (his son is running it now, from what I hear).

If anyone has tried Freddy's Pizzeria, please post a message about the place here if you would like. I'd love to hear more about this Queens institution!

Here is the address for Freddy's Pizzeria:
Freddy's Pizzeria
1266 150th Street
Queens (Whitestone), NY, 11357

The phone number is:
(718) 767-4502

I grew up in Whitestone
(143rd street), moved to L.A. in 1990 and came back to NY in Feb. for a visit. I had heard of Freddy's, checked it out and it's among the best I've ever had. And no, I'm not comparing it to L.A. pizza (they haven't got a clue).

Best pizza anywhere is Amore in Linden Place (College Point). 10 minutes from whitestone and blows Freddy's away.

freddy's is alrite, but the best slice is from Amore in the Linden Place shoppibg center in NY. Its a 10 minute ride from whitestone and they make amazing pizza. They used to be on Main Street and was called Gloria's. Just included that to see if it would ring any bells.

Amore is good, but the owner in there is a douchebag.acts like a tuff guy, just not a good enviorment and its in a dirt whole neighborhood. Pizza chef is the best light cheese well done

I grew up in Whitestone, and still currently live here. I love Freddy's Pizza!! The meat calzones are definitely the way to go, and if you're in the mood for a sicilian pie then you have to order from Freddy's.
